亞洲特⾊風格R&B⾳樂製作研究及應⽤ —以《DözY⾳樂專輯》為例

Abstract

R&B又名為節奏藍調,作為⼀種從藍調⾳樂之中衍⽣出的⾳樂風格,從1940年代被定義為⼀種新的風格⽽誕⽣之後,便與主流流⾏⾳樂市場緊緊相依,直至今⽇仍然可以聽⾒被廣泛定義為R&B曲風的歌曲在各⼤⾳樂排⾏榜上佔有⼀席之地。 時代的演進推動了節奏藍調樂風的演變,也隨著交通、信息交換的管道逐漸增加與日漸便利,將節奏藍調帶到了世界各地,並如同所有音樂類型,隨著當地的居民學習、理解、並應用這個樂風,進而使節奏藍調這個原本屬於黑人靈魂樂分支的樂風與當地的文化融合,包括我們所處的亞洲地區而誕生出獨一無二的帶有亞洲風格的節奏藍調音樂。 本篇詮釋報告將以筆者⾃身的⾳樂創作者身份「DözY」⾳樂專輯為例,在⾃身的⾳樂創作之中探討及研究究竟是什麼樣的要件構成的獨特的亞洲風格,第一章節為緒論,第一節將詳細說明此次研究動機與實踐,第二節交代研究範圍,第四節將著重聚焦在預期貢獻,第二章為文獻探討,此章將說明節奏藍調音樂的發展歷史,定義何為節奏藍調,接著說明何為亞洲特色風格,並深入探討亞洲傳統音樂中常用之音階及和聲概念,在此章節也會詳述並說明本篇研究中將使用到的專有名詞,第三章為如何讓R&B音樂帶有亞洲特色風格之探討與解析,在這個章節會會利用剛剛文獻探討的結論詳述、統整讓節奏藍調音樂聽起來帶有亞洲特色風格的原因以及用什麼方式實踐,第四章為音樂創作本體之細部發想與動機,第一節為創作動機,敘述此次創作之核心,說明創作理念,第二節開始為詳細曲目解析、創作過程,有關之技術及想法,包括創作主題、旋律編寫、編曲所使⽤之樂器、原聲樂器及電⼦/虛擬樂器之比例權衡,效果器及軟硬體設備、⾳軌編輯混⾳之應⽤製作過程及歌曲詳細分析介紹,以專輯中個曲⽬作為實⼒統整及分析,第五章為結論,創作內容總結,研究分析後,自身對於亞洲特色風格R&B的理解與重新認識,同時歸納出在未來進行音樂創作時能關注及改變創新的重點,為此主題可以有更多面向以及發展可能之機會。
Also known as Rhythm and Blues, R&B is a musical style that evolved from the blues. Since its emergence in the 1940s as a newly defined genre, R&B has remained closely intertwined with the mainstream popular music market. Even today, songs categorized as R&B continue to occupy a significant presence on major music charts. With the progression of time, the R&B genre has evolved accordingly. As transportation and information exchange channels have become increasingly accessible and widespread, R&B has spread across the globe. Like all music genres, as local audiences learned, understood, and adapted this musical style, R&B—originally a subgenre rooted in African American soul—gradually merged with local cultures. This process has given rise to a unique form of R&B with Asian stylistic characteristics, including within our own region. This interpretive report uses the author’s own musical project under the artist name “DözY” as a case study to explore the elements that form the unique characteristics of Asian-style R&B. Chapter One serves as the introduction, with the first section outlining the research motivation and practice, the second clarifying the scope of the study, and the fourth focusing on the expected contributions. Chapter Two presents a literature review, covering the historical development of R&B, definitions of the genre, as well as the features of Asian stylistic elements. It also delves into the use of scales and harmonic concepts common in traditional Asian music, and explains key terminology used throughout the research. Chapter Three discusses and analyzes how to incorporate Asian stylistic elements into R&B music. Based on the literature review, it summarizes the characteristics that make R&B sound "Asian" and the practical methods used to achieve this. Chapter Four focuses onthe creative process behind the music project, beginning with the motivation and concept of the work, followed by detailed track analyses. This includes the songwriting process, melodic composition, arrangement decisions, instrument selection (acoustic vs. electronic/virtual instruments), effects processing, software and hardware tools, track editing, and mixing techniques. Each track in the album serves as a concrete example for analysis and integration of theory and practice.Chapter Five concludes the paper, summarizing the creative content and research findings, offering a renewed understanding of Asian-influenced R&B, and identifying key takeaways for future music creation. It aims to provide further perspectives and developmental possibilities for this topic.
